Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is a unit within the School of Engineering of Beirut. Its mission is to provide students with an academic framework that promotes learning. The Department’s main activities include teaching, academic follow-up, and coordinating students' studies. It establishes guidelines and activities to implement the pedagogical strategy of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

Programs
After completing two years of study in the Department of Preparatory Classes and earning 120 credits, students join one of the programs of the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The programs consist of 180 ECTS credits, and upon completion, students are awarded an engineering degree. The Department offers three programs:

  • Computer and Communications Engineering Program with two concentration options:
    • Software Engineering
    • Telecommunication Networks
  • Electrical Engineering Program
  • Mechanical Engineering Program
