Professor at the faculty of engineeringat Saint Joseph University “ESIB”.

 

Since 2013 and throughout the past years Ihave taught the following main courses:

 

  • Strength of materials for the year 3 of civil and mechanical engineering,
  • Static for year 2 of preparatory classes for civil and mechanical engineering (Mathematiques Speciales - Sections: Normal & Concours)

In parallel to the listed above main courses, I mentor students in their Midtermproject (MDP-Building Structure) for the year4-civil engineering; as well asFinal Year Project (FYP-Building Structure) for students in their year5-civilEngineering.

In addition, I was also in charge of the following courses:

  • Lab courses for strength of materials for first year civil engineering,
  • Follow-up of civil engineering students’ internship

 

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

September 2009 to date:        Technical Manager at CCE-PM& Consulting Engineers,

In charge of structure,roads and infrastructure design;

Preparation oftender documents (Technical Specifications, Bills of Quantities and Costestimates …)and site supervision during construction period .

 

Project: Perimetre du parc -Beirut Central District-Lebanon.

Aluxurious residential building in Solidere with 4 basements (technical area andparking). Foundations are 6 meters below sea level, retails at ground floor, 10stories for residential use and a pool on top of roof.

Permanentdiaphragm wall used also for shoring and during excavation and de-watering.

           Totalbuilt up area: 13,000 m2, ongoing project.

 

 

Project: Traffic improvement at Otigba Roundabout-Enugu-Nigeria.

Full designof a three grade separation intersection, including an 150 m overpass and a200m underpass with related infrastructure and incidental works, approximative  a 30 million dollars project.

 

Project: Bourj Hammoud Mall BH 1920-Lebanon.

 A multipurpose tower including 2 basements  (technical area and parking). Over 40 shopsfor  retails at ground floor and firstfloor, 10 stories for office building

           Totalbuilt up area: 10,000 m2.

 

 

Project: Omnia Residential Building-Beirut Central District-Lebanon.

Project: Souk el Hadath internal roads

Rehabilitationof existing internal roads of souk el Hadath,2 km including new infrastructure,storm water network, sewage network ,potable water network and  street lighting.

 

Project: Numerous private individual residences in Laklouk,Mechmech,Karoun,Amchit

Preparationof tender design, with specs ,boq and site supervision during execution ofworks .

 

Project: Jounieh 541(Residential Buildings)- Jounieh -Lebanon.

Two adjacent residential buildings: 7 stories and 4 basements .

Total built up area: 15,000 m2

 

Project: Mar Jeryes Water Tank -Jbeil- Lebanon

Lebanese Republic-Etablissement des eaux de Beyrouth et du Mont Liban (E.B.M.L)

On gradepotable rectangular water tank of 2500 m3 capacity and valve  room for the city of Jbeil.

 

Project: Olympiccity in  South Lebanon -Ansar .

           Socialclub, Basketball covered stadium and swimming pool covered stadium

 including a multi-purpose field and foreseenfor 3000 spectators each.  

 

Project:Al Rayan Palace-Aley-Lebanon .

Restoration and rehabilitation ofan existing old palace bombed during the civil war in Lebanon.

Total built uparea: 4500 sqm

May 2001 to September 2009:       Senior transportation engineer at Dar elHandasah-Shair and Partners,    in charge of preparation geometric designof highways, railways and urban roads, complex grade separated interchanges, trafficanalysis study, signing and marking schemes, bill of quantities and project technicalspecifications. Also involved in preparation of proposals, technical reportsand traffic impact studies.

           

                       

                         Project:  Northern Beirut Entrances- Lebanon

 Detailed engineering designfor the realignment, improvement and rehabilitation of 34.2 km of urbanmotorways (200,000 vehicles/day),28.5 km of service roads, 12 majorinterchanges, and 10 overpasses.

 

 

                         Project:  Amman Development Corridor - Jordan..

Detailed design for 41km for Amman Ring Road (Sections 1 and 2:Zarqa Eastern Bypass and Zarqa Through Link), including 6 interchanges. 

 

 

                        Project:El Kassim-Madina Western Entrances - Saudi Arabia

  Detailed design for a dual double carriage wayof 20 Km with 2 clover leave interchanges.

 

                         Project: Hikmeh-Turk Link Road-Lebanon

Economic feasibility study and final designsof a 1 km long dual-carriageway road in Ashrafieh (Beirut), including 3bridges, infrastructure utilities and traffic control devices.

                                 

                        Project: Viana - Camama Road- Angola.

Final design for a 12 km long dualcarriageway urban road along the existing dirt road linking the site of the newuniversity to the residential area of Viana , south of Luanda.

 

Project: Luanda New City Centre Infrastructure -Phases 2 and 3, Angola.

Design and parcellation plan for acentral area of the Capital that extends into the ocean, involving newreclaimed areas and covering an area of 75 ha.

 

Project: New Fouad Chehab, George Haddad Intersection-Lebanon.

Detailed engineering design and tenderdocuments, including a  grade separation junction.

 

Project: Jeddah - Jizan and Taif - Khamis Mushait RailwayLinks, Saudi Arabia.

Study of the technical and financial feasibility,including concept engineering design for two railway lines with respectivelengths of 660 km and 670 km.

 

 

Project: NorthSouth and East West railways  –Jordan.

Study of the preliminary design andenvironmental impact assessment of 400 km railway extending from Aqaba (Jordan)to the Syrian Borders, and a 100 km railway extending from the Dead Sea(Jordan) towards the Iraq borders.

 

 

July 1999- to May2001         Structure Engineerat B.E.C.T (Engineer Michel Chacar)

Participated in thepreparation of execution documents of the followings:          

 

Project: Tripoli South Stadium (Hosting the Asian Cup 2000)

                                  Stadiumforeseen for 22000 spectators, comprising around 14000 lm of precast

grandstandsincluding a steel cover of 4000 m2 with a length of 32m in cantilever on theWest  Tribune. 

.              

Project: El Marina Club-Dbayeh

 A tourist club of 5000m2 of built up areaincluding: in doors and outdoors  swimming pools, a 3 floors health club.

                      

Project: Machnouk Residence in Solidere Beirut

 An old house of 4 floors (1200m2) built withramleh stone, covered by a wooden   tiledroof and with a new  extension of 3basements under the existing house.

 

Project: Aley Entrances El Pissine and Abrouyan Overpasses

                         El Pissine Bridge Continuous curved reinforced ribbed slab bridgeformed of 3

spans (22.5m- 27m– 22.5m), width of deck slab: 8m.  

 

Abrouyan Bridge Curved reinforcedconcrete slab bridge formed of 10 spans (6x15m-20m-3x15m), width of deck slab:10m.

 

                        Project: Silofor wheat-Beirut-Lebanon

  Four reinforced concrete Silos for wheat of150m3 capacity each, and 16m heights.
