Dr. Sawaya a
obtenu le diplôme d’Ingénieur section Electricité – option Télécommunications en
1990 de l’École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB) de l'Université
Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth (USJ), a obtenu le Diplôme d’Etude Approfondie en
Modélisation Mathématiques et Ingénierie du Logiciel Scientifique de l'USJ en
partenariat avec l'Université Libanaise en 1999 et a obtenu le Doctorat en
Communications et Électronique de l'École Nationale Supérieure des
Télécommunications, Paris, France, en 2002. Actuellement, il occupe le poste de
Professeur à temps plein à l'ESIB où il a commencé sa carrière en tant que chargé
de cours en 1990. Ses recherches portent sur les Communications sans fil, la
Théorie de l'information et le Codage de canal. En plus, il occupe le poste de
Coordinateur de l'Unité Assurance Qualité à la fois à l'USJ depuis décembre
2021 et à l'ESIB depuis octobre 2015. De 2005 à 2017, il était le Directeur de
l'Institut National de Communication et de l’Information (INCI) à l'USJ. Membre
de l'Ordre des Ingénieurs de Beyrouth, Liban depuis 1995, Dr. Sawaya est un Membre
Senior de IEEE, ayant rejoint l'organisation en 1999. Il est membre fondateur
de la section IEEE Liban depuis 2005, membre de son Comité Exécutif de 2005 à
2022 et Président de la section de 2017 à 2018.
