Maya Abou Samra holds degrees in law and political science, as well as a university diploma in mediation. She is also a researcher in child rights at the University of Geneva, where she is completing the Advanced master’s in child Rights. Maya has over 10 years of experience in the child rights and child protection field. She previously worked with Himaya in the Capacity Building & Research and Development Department, where she led training for professionals, including security forces and the Bar Association, on child protection legal frameworks and topics and establish child protection policies for institutions and schools. Maya currently leads the Child Rights Governance program at Save the Children Lebanon, serving as the technical lead for initiatives focused on strengthening national systems to better uphold children’s rights and participation.
