This course unit aims to introduce students to the analysis of single-variable statistical series and to the mastery of the fundamental tools of descriptive statistics. It enables students to become familiar with statistical terminology, appropriate graphical representations, and the principal measures of central tendency, dispersion, and proportion. Particular attention is given to data visualization, especially through the construction and interpretation of graphs (histograms, charts, boxplots) that allow for a rapid understanding of the structure of a distribution and the identification of its essential characteristics.
