Gov-AIRA: AI-Government Readiness and Acceptance

Description :

To explore the readiness and acceptance of IA-enabled technologies in the provision of public service, two distinct surveys will be launched targeting two different populations. The first survey will target the “supply side” of public services, i.e. public sector agents. This survey will be addressed to a population of 500 individuals working in the public sector at various managerial levels, ranging from top levels (policymakers and decision-makers, االولى الفئة موظفو )to lower levels of responsibilities (policy implementers or والثالثة الثانية الفئات موظفو( . The objective is to assess the extent to which they consider AI-enabled technologies for public service provision as beneficial to society and to identify what they regard as potential risks and barriers to the introduction of such an innovative channel. The second survey targets the “demand side” of public service delivery, i.e. the citizens who are interacting with the public entities (ministries or other public bodies) in their daily routine. The population is 1200 individuals(based on a scientifically accepted calculation), all Lebanese citizens aged above 18 across the entire country. This survey aims to cover also their perceptions of the social benefits of IA-enabled technologies in the public service as for the public agents’ survey (for comparative purposes), as well as to explore the extent to which they accept and have the required skills to interact in such a digitalized environment. The surveys will be conducted by the OURSE (Observatoire Universitaire de la Réalité SocioEconomique), which is the data collection body of the Statistical Unit at Saint-Joseph.
