072LMHRF1 | Labor Migration Sovereign authority to admit/detain & Human rights limitations |
---|---|
The course on Labor Migration explores how well-managed labor migration makes the process safe and orderly for workers as well as beneficial to the countries of destination and origin. So, how can we ensure a well-managed labor migration? What are some of the features of an effective policy for labor migration? Which stakeholders should be consulted during the policymaking process? In what ways can non-government actors promote ethical recruitment? This course focuses on the interplay between sovereignty and human rights. It examines both traditional approaches and more recent developments to discover whether the substantive frontiers of each have been ‘significantly redrawn’ in response to prevailing international realities.
