This course is designed to equip students with essential soft skills and work-based learning experiences to prepare them for success in the workplace. It promotes participation and hands-on teaching and learning. Students will be actively engaged in the learning process and will have opportunities to practice and strengthen new skills while building the self-confidence needed to secure and maintain employment aligned with their career goals. Work-based learning activities are integrated into the course and require students to visit real workplaces in the community outside of regular class hours. Students will be guided in using free online digital tools to demonstrate their learning. Throughout the course, students will develop a career portfolio that will support them throughout their Work Ready Now experiential journey—from student to employee.
