Cerebral Palsy: Knowledge and Interventions

This course unit provides a comprehensive understanding of cerebral palsy by blending theoretical knowledge with practical insights. It covers definitions, causes, characteristics, types, and associated conditions, as well as the implications for daily life. Students will learn principles of holistic care—medical, rehabilitative, and social—with a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration and family involvement. The unit also introduces orthopedagogical interventions suited to children with cerebral palsy, whether in specialized institutions or inclusive classrooms. Students will design environmental adaptations and educational tools to support learning access and promote learner autonomy.
