Comparing Dynamic Navigation, Static Navigation, and Free-Hand Techniques for Fiber Post Retrieval: A Laboratory Study

This in vitro study aims to compare the efficiency and safety of three techniques for fiber post removal prior to endodontic retreatment: Dynamic Navigation System (DNS), static guide, and freehand technique. A total of extracted human teeth will be prepared, shaped, obturated, and restored with fiber posts using standardized protocols. The sample will be randomly divided into three groups, each corresponding to one of the removal techniques. High-resolution micro-CT scans will be performed before cementation and after post removal to assess and quantify dentin loss, while additional parameters will also be recorded and analyzed. This study seeks to determine whether the dynamic navigation technique provides improved precision and reduces the risk of iatrogenic damage compared to conventional methods.
