"Evaluating CAD/CAM esthetic materials for Post and Core as an Alternative to conventional Metal: An In Vitro Study"
Description :
According to Spina et al.,(8) the resin nanoceramic (RNC) Lava Ultimate (3M) demonstrates higher fracture resistance in post and core fabrication compared to Vita Enamic, a hybrid ceramic consisting of a glass ceramic within a resin interpenetrating matrix. A newer family of hybrid ceramics, zirconia-silica ceramic in a resin interpenetrating matrix, like the Shofu HC Blocks form Shofu has recently emerged on the market, yet no studies have compared its performance to these established materials. Additionally, the Numerys GF Blocks by Itena, a recently launched product specifically marketed for the fabrication of metal-free post and cores, presents another innovative option. This study aims to evaluate and compare the fracture resistance of these three materials under standardized conditions, providing valuable insights on their fracture resistance in restoring endodontically treated teeth with digital posts and cores.
