Fracture strength and failure load of CAD/CAM fabricated anterior endocrowns performed with different materials: an in vitro study
Description :
Anterior endocrowns, used as a suitable restoration post endodontic treatment, are being recently reviewed in literature. However, most of the studies are focusing on the post length and only few are evaluating the differences between the materials and their effect on the tooth (failure mode) and the different possible designs. This study aims to evaluate the fracture resistance and the failure mode of four different materials and two different designs. The restorations will be realized indirectly and cemented by adhesive resin cement. After thermocycling, the samples will be subject to compressive tests using the universal testing machine. The teeth will be examined for determination of failure mode using an optical microscope. After data collection, the results will be analyzed and discussed to reach a final conclusion.
