Black stains in children: bacterial etiology and correlation with oral pH and dental caries presence.
Description :
The purpose of the study is to investigate the possible correlation between the presence of dark tooth staining, the presence of chromogenic bacteria and their effect on the oral cavity’s pH, and the absence of decay in children aged 6 to 8 years. Sample size the minimum sample size required is 30 patients per group. After obtaining a written, signed parental consent for each child’s participation in the study, a salivary sample is collected from each participating child. Two groups of children aged 6 to 8 years will be recruited: one group presenting with dark extrinsic tooth staining and another group without dark extrinsic tooth staining.
