|
This course allows students to discover how a film genre works in specific socio-cultural and historical production contexts. Using both a historical and structural approach, the major genres and popular sub-genres of cinema will be studied according to their most recognisable semantic and syntactic elements, their historical evolution and their presence in different national film industries (United States, France, Italy, South Korea, Japan): tragedy, melodrama, comedy, film noir, fantasy, western, dystopia. Similarly, this course helps students to better understand and potentially manipulate the generic codes they are accustomed to using in their own creative work, with the aim of better reinventing or transgressing these universal codes. Temps présentiel : 22.5 heures Charge de travail étudiant : 7.5 heures Méthode(s) d'évaluation : Exposé écrit |
