Assessment of the Performance of Academic and Non-Academic Staff

a.    Tenured Instructors-Researchers:
Article 9 of the Instructor and Researcher Code sets out the terms and conditions for the appraisal of tenured instructors-researchers. It stipulates that, no later than April 30 of the current academic year, and depending on the case in question (contract expiry date or request for promotion), the tenured instructor-researcher is subject to an evaluation by the Head of the institution, based on the instructor’s activity report, the evaluation of their teaching by students, and the opinion of the institution's Board.

The appraisal covers all the academic duties performed by the instructor, as set out in the annual workload document. The axes and criteria of evaluation are detailed in Appendix 1 of the Instructor and Researcher Code, which also includes the Assessment Grid by the Students (G1), the Assessment Grid by the Academic Supervisors (G2), the Assessment Grid by Peers (G3) and the Evaluation Grid for the Research Activity.

Objectives, if any, are assigned based on the results of this evaluation. The report on evaluation results and any objectives assigned is placed in the instructor's file at the Rector's Office, with a copy in the file kept by their home institution.

b.    Non-Tenured Instructors:
At the end of each semester or year, the Head of the institution draws up an evaluation of each non-tenured instructor. It is based on the evaluation of their teaching by students and on the opinion of the institution's Board. This evaluation is taken into account when renewing appointments.

c.    Non-Academic Staff:
The annual performance appraisal of members of the administrative staff (PSG) is the responsibility of the Human Resources Office (SRH). This assessment is carried out in accordance with the Performance Appraisal Procedure (PAP). An analysis of the results of this appraisal is included in the SRH Annual Report. This analysis enables SRH to plan the resource allocation activities proposed to staff.
