Quality Assurance Operational System

The role of the Strategic Steering Committee (SSC) is to endorse the annual Action Plan proposed by the Quality Assurance Unit, validate the remediation plans, self-assessment reports, etc., and take a stance on the evaluation reports submitted by the experts of the accreditation agencies. The Committee also manages the development of the University’s Strategic Plan and ensures that the Plan is aligned with the University’s mission, vision, and values. More specifically, the Committee:

- Identifies the axes and forms the ad hoc commissions responsible for the development of the Strategic Plan.
- Validates the indicators of the Strategic Plan and ensures their alignment with the requirements of raking agencies.
- Sets, based on the recommendations of the ad hoc commissions, the target levels for the satisfaction indicators’ results, by area and analysis topic.
- Validates the Action Plans proposed by the ad hoc commissions.
- Analyzes the indicators’ results and the Strategic Plan follow-up reports.
- Identifies areas for improvement, sets goals, and monitors progress in collaboration with the relevant sub-committees.

At the Central Administration level, the Vice-Rectors and Office Directors contribute to the transmission of data and results to the Quality Assurance Unit, for the purpose of closing the Quality Assurance cycle and drafting the self-assessment report. The Vice-Rectors appoint the project leaders of the quality improvement and management projects.

At the institutional level, a Quality Assurance Committee is created in each institution, where a Quality Assurance referent ensures coordination and acts as a liaison between the Quality Assurance Unit and the institution. The Committee is responsible for the assessment of the institution and its academic programs, the planning and prioritizing of the necessary improvements, the appointment of improvement project managers, and the follow-up of the projects.
