The Unit

UAQ Main Functions

The Quality Assurance Unit and the Center for Data Collection and Analysis contribute to planning and assessment within the University, at both the Central Administration level and the institutional level.

They provide support to improve decision-making related to planning as well as assessment through the various services they deliver:

  • Managing the institutional accreditation and assessment processes.

  • Managing the quality management process.

  • Supporting the academic institutions, administrative units, and other entities that are undergoing accreditation, assessment, or certification.

  • Supporting the institutions in the assessment of academic programs.

  • Supporting the University’s strategic planning and institutional development projects.

  • Managing data related to rankings, accreditations, and satisfaction surveys.

These services are distributed over three axes:

  1. Institutional Accreditation and Assessment:
The Institutional Accreditation and Assessment axis is steered by a sub-committee comprising the UAQ Coordinator, the Rector’s Delegate for University Pedagogy, the University’s Secretary-General, the Quality Expert, and the UAQ Project Manager. The sub-committee manages the institutional accreditation and assessment processes and provides the academic and non-academic entities with the necessary support for assessment.

  2. Institutional Planning and Project Management:
The Institutional Planning and Project Management axis is steered by a sub-committee including the UAQ Coordinator, the University's Secretary-General, the Quality Expert, and the UAQ Project Manager. The sub-committee proposes, supports, and participates in the implementation of the University’s strategic planning, the assessment of performance indicators, and the management of institutional development projects.

  3. Institutional Research:
The Institutional Research axis falls under the responsibility of the Center for Data Collection and Analysis, which is steered by a sub-committee including the UAQ Coordinator, at least one member of the Quality Assurance Operational Steering Team (QA-OST), the Quality Assurance Unit Project Manager, and the Data Analyst affiliated with the Center. The sub-committee proposes, supports, and participates in the implementation of satisfaction surveys, in collaboration with the University Observatory on Social and Economic Reality (OURSE), as well as ranking operations and report drafting with certified agencies, such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), etc.
