Michèle Habbaki pursued her translation studies at the School of Translatorsand Interpreters of Beirut (ETIB) andholds a PhD in Languages from the Faculty of Languages and translation (FdLT) ofthe Saint-Joseph University.
She first started teaching at USJ in 2007, giving French remedialcourses. Soon after that, she started teaching translation at the Center ofLanguages and Translation (CLT) of the Lebanese University, and the IslamicUniversity of Lebanon where she taught different translation courses in differentlanguage combinations and various domains, including general, economic,literary translation and more.
Today, she continues to teach translation and languages at ETIB as wellas at the CLT. She is also part of the teaching team at the Institut Francaisdu Liban (IFL) where she teaches French as foreign languages for the A1 (beginner)to C1 (advanced) levels. In addition, she is a corrective examiner for theDELF/DALF (the proficiency diplomas of French language issued by the FrenchMinistry of Education).
Beyond her teaching activities, she is part of the reading-editing committeeof Al-Kīmiyā, a journal published by the FdLT and she continues being atranslator, taking on translation projects for various international and local NGOsand media offices.
