Dr. Carine Ayoub has held the position of “Full-time Lecturer” at USJ since September 1, 2023. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree in 2017, her Master of Research in Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences degree in 2018, and her Doctorate (PhD) in Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences in 2023 from Saint-Joseph University of Beirut. She also completed a post-doctorate at UMR_S1166 ICAN, Faculty of Medicine of Sorbonne University in France. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Ayoub was responsible for teaching courses and supervising trainees. She received research grants that enabled the successful completion of her work. Currently a lecturer at the university, she teaches courses in Structural Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology of Nutrition at the Faculty of Pharmacy and is committed to academic and scientific excellence and the training of future health professionals and researchers. Dr. Ayoub also conducts research activities at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Therapies of the Faculty of Pharmacy and her work is mainly based on the biochemical, molecular, genetic and clinical studies of lipid metabolism diseases and associated cardiovascular risks, as well as on the role of PCSK9 in lipid metabolism. Her work has been published in scientific journals, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge in her field. Dr. Ayoub's commitment to education and research aims to have a positive impact on the academic excellence, the training of responsible and competent health professionals, the scientific community and the health sector.
