In 2024, we commemorate the centenary of the birth of Father Youakim Moubarac (https://www.usj.edu.lb/news.php?id=14944).
Born in Kfarsghab in 1924, he passed away in France in 1995. Throughout his life, he never ceased to commit himself to the causes that made his heart beat to the point of exhaustion: Lebanon and the Maronite Church, the Question of Palestine and Jerusalem, and Muslim-Christian dialogue, themes that were inseparably linked in his conscience as a man, a priest and an intellectual.
The archives kept at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut bear witness to the fruitfulness of his thought, which is still relevant today and can open up new paths for research, hence the relevance of the creation, in March 2024, of the Chair that bears his name.
Seat of the Chair: Research Centre (CRSR) of the Faculty of Religious Sciences where the archival collection is kept.
