Anglais - Niveau C / Intermediate

This English course is mandatory to learners who have either been placed in level C in the Placement Test or passed Level D. The purpose of the Level C English communication skills course is to help the learners improve their ability to understand authentic English when they listen and read, as well as speak and write in English to express their ideas clearly and effectively. The focus of the course is on activating their English to communicate well in a variety of real situations. It is aimed at developing academic English as well as the four skills of the learners in general: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, and writing. Level C learners are exposed to academic reading texts that they should read and understand. As for the listening comprehension, learners listen to a CD or watch a DVD while taking notes and afterwards answer vocabulary, comprehension, and opinion questions. The speaking skill of the learners is developed through interactive speaking and listening exercises in class and individual oral presentations. The writing skill encompasses four types of paragraph writing including opinion paragraph, SLUWE paragraph, compare/contrast paragraph, and cause/effect paragraph.
