Dr. Antoine Melkane is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Saint Joseph University.Dr. Melkane obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine in 2004. After completing his residency in Otorhinolaryngology at the Hôtel-Dieu de France University Hospital in 2009, he underwent specialized training in head and neck oncologic surgery at the Gustave Roussy Institute, University Paris XI, in Villejuif, France (2009-2012), followed by further training at the Karmanos Cancer Institute, Wayne State University, in Michigan, USA (2012-2013). He joined the Otorhinolaryngology department at Hôtel-Dieu de France in 2014, where he has since been actively involved in the care of patients with head and neck cancers.Dr. Melkane holds a Master’s in Surgical Sciences from University Paris XI (2012). His primary research interests focus on the involvement of HPV in oropharyngeal cancers and the role of sentinel lymph nodes in early-stage head and neck cancers.He has published more than 30 original articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Melkane is a member of the scientific committee for the European Annals of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous other journals, including Head & Neck, Laryngoscope, and JAMA Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery.
