Dr. Jad Abou Arrage is a seasoned academic, consultant, and advisor with over 18 years of experience in agriculture, rural development, natural resource management, and sustainable tourism. He has worked across Lebanon and the Middle East with leading international organizations and UN agencies, including UNDP, UNESCO, UNEP, and UN Tourism. His expertise covers sustainable landscape management, ecotourism, economic development, agricultural value chains, and environmental economics. He has led high-impact projects in sustainable tourism strategies, nature reserve management, value chain analysis, and socio-economic development. He is also experienced in training, capacity building, project design, and evaluation for both public and private stakeholders. In academia, Dr. Abou Arrage has taught at the Lebanese University, University of Balamand, and Antonine University, and is currently a lecturer at the American University of Beirut. He holds a Ph.D. in Technological Innovation for Food and Environmental Sciences from the University of Milan, a master’s in Development, Environment, and Societies from the Université Catholique de Louvain and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech in Belgium, and an Agricultural Engineering diploma from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. Renowned for his multidisciplinary approach, he combines technical expertise with a passion for empowering communities and preserving natural and cultural heritage. Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, he also speaks conversational Italian.
