Personal Information:
Dr. Charbel Bou Hanna is a Lebanese mathematician born on March 6, 1982, in Ablah, Zahle, Lebanon, where he currently resides. He is married to Daniella El Mor and is the proud father of three boys.
Education:
Holds a PhD in Mathematics and Interactions (2022) through a joint program between the Lebanese University and the University of Angers, France, awarded with a Very Honorable Mention. He also earned a Master’s degree in Discrete Mathematics and Algebra (2019) and a Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics (2015) from the Lebanese University. In addition, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics (2007) from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).
University Occupation:
Serves as a part-time instructor at several leading universities in Lebanon, including Saint Joseph University of Beirut, La Sagesse University, the Islamic University of Lebanon, the Lebanese University, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, and the University of Balamand.
Teaching Expertise:
Teaches a wide range of courses such as probability and statistics, biostatistics, discrete mathematics, artificial intelligence, calculus, numerical analysis, and business mathematics. His teaching approach emphasizes strong theoretical foundations combined with practical applications, particularly in data analysis and decision-making.
Early Career Experience:
Previously worked as a coordinator and teacher of mathematics, physics, and chemistry at institutions including College Notre Dame des Apôtres and other schools in the Zahle region, building a solid foundation in both secondary and higher education with a focus on active learning and student engagement.
Research Focus:
Specializes in graph theory and tournament theory. His research includes the publication “Representative Vector of a Tournament and Applications” in the Journal of Applied and Computational Mathematics, and “Paths in Tournaments: A Simple Proof of Rosenfeld's Conjecture,” currently under publication.
Technical and Professional Skills:
Holds a Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Excel (Office 2019) obtained in 2025. Completed LabVIEW Core 1 and Core 2 training with National Instruments. Actively participates in workshops on innovative teaching methods and the integration of technology in education.
Academic Contributions:
Contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for the Journal of Discrete Mathematics. Also serves as a thesis supervisor, reviewer, and examiner for Master’s students in Discrete Mathematics and Algebra at the Lebanese University.
