I was born in 1953 and am an academic and researcher specialized in social sciences. Originally from Zahle, where I reside, I have devoted my career to higher education, sociological research, and the study of electoral dynamics in Lebanon. After my studies at the Oriental Basilian College of Zahle, I pursued a full academic path at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Social Sciences, where I obtained a bachelor's in 1978, a DEA in 1991, then a State Doctorate in 1995. In 2003, I was promoted to the title of Professor. From 1996 to 2015, I taught as a Professor at the Lebanese University, where I also assumed administrative responsibilities, notably director of the Faculty of Social Sciences from 2002 to 2007. I supervised doctoral theses at the Lebanese University from 2003 to 2021, then at Saint Joseph University (USJ) from 2019, a role I continue to carry out. I also taught at the Doctoral School from 2003 to 2021 and gave social-security courses at USJ-Zahle between 2003 and 2005. My research work centers mainly on electoral behavior in Lebanon, a theme to which I have devoted numerous studies and publications. I have also participated in national and international conferences, notably on sustainable development. I am the author of several works in Arabic on the electoral history of Zahle and the Bekaa, including: The Parliamentary Elections in Zahle and the Bekaa during the French Mandate (1992); The Parliamentary Elections in Zahle and the Bekaa between 1947 and 1972 (1996); The Role of Parliamentary Elections in Lebanon (2015); and The Democracy of Fear (2019). Alongside my academic activities, I play tennis and chess.
