Dr. Ahmad Kourani is a Mechatronics Engineer with a Ph.D. and over ten years of experience in robotics and mechatronics systems. He currently serves as a Research Associate and Program Lead at the American University of Beirut (AUB), where he directs projects in robotics, control, and artificial intelligence. His core research expertise encompasses control systems, mechatronics, computer vision, and SLAM technologies, with a recent focus on AI. This includes his ongoing development of the DSP-SLAM framework and the application of Reinforcement Learning for Autonomous Ground Vehicles. Throughout his career, Dr. Kourani has consistently bridged theoretical research with practical application by leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and designing advanced control systems for industrial applications.
