The Arab Thought Foundation (ATF), in cooperation with Saint Joseph University (USJ) of Beirut, is organizing an event to present its Fourteenth Arab Report on Cultural Development, entitled “Arab Food and Water Security: Accumulating Crises and Promising Initiatives”. The event will take place on Wednesday, 25 November 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Raymond and Aïda Najjar Auditorium, Medical Sciences Campus, Damascus Road, Beirut, bringing together a distinguished panel of policymakers, academics, experts, and representatives of regional and international organizations concerned with food and water security.

This event follows the report's official launch, organized by ATF in cooperation with the League of Arab States at its headquarters in Cairo in October 2026. It forms part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts to broaden discussions on food and water security and foster dialogue on the development challenges facing the Arab world.

The report highlights the close interconnection between food and water security as two fundamental pillars of sustainable development in the Arab world, against a backdrop of regional and international geopolitical shifts and mounting environmental and economic challenges. It also examines the major structural imbalances affecting the region's management of natural resources and its ability to meet food needs, while showcasing a range of initiatives and experiences that offer new avenues for developing solutions and strengthening resilience in the face of crises.

The event will provide a platform for academic and intellectual dialogue on the issues addressed in the report, encouraging an exchange of perspectives on the policies and approaches needed to achieve more sustainable food and water security. It will also explore opportunities to harness knowledge, scientific research, and technology to address current challenges. Furthermore, the event will underscore the importance of collaboration between intellectual and academic institutions in generating knowledge, raising awareness of development issues, and shaping shared visions that contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable future for the Arab world.
