Elizabeth Suzanne Kassab is a philosopher currently doing research on Arab debates on culture in a comparative perspective. Her book Culture and Contemporary Arab Critique will be published by Columbia University Press in the fall. She studied at AUB and in Fribourg, Switzerland and has taught at AUB, Balamand, LAU, Columbia and Yale. She is currently a research affiliate at the German Orient Institute in Beirut, and working on her next book dealing with questions of post-colonial Enlightenment.
