LIU Li 刘立 , Director of Confucius Institute at Saint Joseph University
Professor Li is a dedicated leader with over 20 years of experience in educational administration and intercultural communication. He holds a Master Degree in Foreign Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, Professor of English, and specialized in translation and intercultural studies, English education, and international Chinese language education.
Prof. Li believes that cultural understanding is built through dialogue and shared experiences. His approach focuses on creating inclusive, engaging programs that bridge cultures and foster mutual respect.
He is deeply passionate about language and cultural exchange and cooperation. To that end, Prof. Li actively reach out through workshops on traditional calligraphy and festive customs, equipping students and faculty with the cultural literacy essential for meaningful international engagement. Directing the Confucius Institute in Lebanon is particularly significant for him because it enables him to contribute to the country’s rich tapestry of civilizations, building bridges through education despite regional challenges. Prof. Li enjoys exploring Chinese poetry and practicing Chinese brush painting in his leisure time.
