Joseph Houssni is an Assistant Professor of Cinema at Notre Dame University - Louaize - Lebanon. He holds a PhD in Cinema Television from Saint-Esprit University - Kaslik - Lebanon. He teaches film history, film theory and aesthetics, documentary filmmaking, and the semiotics of images. He is the author of Textualization" of the Real in Lars von Triers Cinema (book), Image and Word: Islam and Cinematic Form in New Iranian Cinema (religion and the arts), Contingent-Generated Documentary: The Case of Abbas Kiarostami's ABC Africa (Film International), and several other conference papers.
