Dr. Roula Azar Douglas holds a Ph.D. in the Humanities with a specialization in Information and Communication Sciences from Saint Joseph University (USJ), as well as a graduate diploma in Journalism awarded jointly by Panthéon-Assas University, Paris 2, the French Press Institute, and the Lebanese University. Additionally, she has a graduate diploma in Educational Sciences from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and a bachelor's degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

She has lived between Canada and Lebanon. Currently based in Beirut, Dr. Roula Azar Douglas teaches at Saint Joseph University and holds the positions of responsible editor of the Campus section at L'Orient-Le Jour and coordinator of the National Observatory for Women in Research affiliated with CNRS-Lebanon. She is the author of two books and a contributor to several anthologies. She is a member of the Parliament of Francophone Women Writers and the Global Thinkers Forum. Her latest novel, "Le Jour où le soleil ne s'est pas levé" (The Day the Sun Did Not Rise), was distinguished by being selected among the five finalists for the 2019 Hors Concours des Lycéens Prize.
