Prof. Louis Hardan, former head of the restorative and esthetic department at Saint Joseph University Beirut-Lebanon (2013-2019), actually director of the master program since 2019, coordinator of the prosthetic and esthetic master since 2021 and member of the digital dentistry, AI and evolving technologies department since 2023.He graduated dentistry in 1989 and continued his post-doctoral education at Saint Joseph University; he obtained a certificate for basic science in 1993, he completed his specialization in restorative and esthetic dentistry in 1995, and completed his PhD in oral biology and materials (Esthetic and Prosthetic Dentistry) in 2009. He was an active member of the Lebanese Dental Association board (LDA) (2006-2009) and was assigned as a general secretary of the LDA in 2009.At the present, he is a full professor at Saint Joseph University (restorative and esthetic department and digital dentistry, AI and evolving technologies department) and owns a private practice in his home town Byblos.He is an honorary and active international Styleitaliano member and the scientific director of this group.He is the Country Chairperson for Lebanon of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD) since 2020, ESCD certified member, ESCD board member and international affairs chairperson since 2021.He is the inventor of: 1- Smile Lite MDP (Smile Line, Switzerland) a device to take high quality dental pictures with a mobile phone (Winner of the Cellerant’s best of class technology award for 2017 in USA)2- Smile Lite MDP2 (Smile Line, Switzerland. Winner of the CEDE’s best product award for 2022 in Europe)3- Posterior Misura (LM instrument) an instrument for direct posterior composites. 4- The Fast Modelling Technique (FMT) to model posterior composites in a fast and predictable way.International Awards Winner:1- 2017: Cellerant’s best of class technology award in USA for Smile Lite MDP (Smile Line, Switzerland)2- 2022: CEDE’s best product award in Europe for Smile Lite MDP2 (Smile Line, Switzerland)3- 2023: The Academic Award of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD).4- 2025: chosen, by the Global Summits Institute (Florida, USA), between the top 100 doctors in the health care field for 2025.Prof. Hardan:1- has many publications and he is a guest editor and reviewer in many indexed, high impact factor and citescore international journals2- wrote chapters in international dental books (Veneers, Zarow et al. 2022 and Layers2, Manauta et al. 2023) 3- author of a book entitled: “Protocols for Mobile Dental Photography with auxiliary lighting” Quintessence Publishing 2020 (translated to Bulgarian and French languages)4- has given several international lectures and courses on esthetic, restorative dentistry, digital dentistry and mobile dental photography.
