Strategic Plan 2032: USJ Remains Attentive to Its Community
Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) has begun preparing its Strategic Plan 2032, an institutional roadmap aimed at translating its mission, vision and values into coherent strategic priorities, objectives and concrete initiatives, capable of sustainably strengthening its positioning and resilience, as well as its academic and societal impact.
In a period characterized by deep transformations in higher education, technological advances, the evolving expectations of students and stakeholders, as well as economic and societal challenges, USJ wanted this reflection to be part of a collaborative approach involving the entire community.
Several focus groups were organized with the various parties involved in the University, including instructors, students, department directors, alumni as well as staff members.
The purpose of these meetings was to gather participants' perceptions, expectations and proposals on the main issues that will shape the future of the University. The discussions focused on the strengths and weaknesses of USJ, the opportunities and threats in its environment, as well as the priorities that should be included in the next Strategic Plan.
The sessions were conducted according to a participatory methodology. Participants first worked in small groups to encourage free expression and diversity of views. The reflections of these small groups were then shared and discussed in plenary session, enriching the exchanges and bringing out common orientations.
Through this initiative, USJ reaffirms its desire to build its future with the entire community, in a spirit of listening, consultation and shared responsibility. The contributions gathered during these focus groups will contribute to the next steps in the development of the 2032 Strategic Plan and help define an ambitious and unifying vision for the years to come.
