The Confucius Institute initiative was launched in 2004 to support Chinese language education, promote cultural exchange, and foster collaboration between educational institutions around the world. Today, the Confucius Institute network spans numerous countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. 

Our Mission and Vision

While each institute responds to the educational and cultural needs of its local community, the Confucius Institute at Saint Joseph University (CIUSJ) serves as a cultural and educational bridge between Lebanon and China, fostering mutual understanding through language learning, cultural exchange, and academic cooperation. CIUSJ provides an authentic window into Chinese culture, allowing learners and the wider community to explore China’s traditions, values, and contemporary society.

Through its activities and partnerships, the Institute continues to strengthen Lebanese-Chinese cooperation and create lasting connections between the two cultures.
