What is HSK?
HSK stands for Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (汉语水平考试) which is an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency organized by CTI Co., Ltd. (CTI), a specialized international Chinese language education and testing service company. HSK assesses Chinese learners' abilities to use Chinese as a second language in their daily, academic, and professional lives through a standardized examination and evaluation with a uniform grading and scoring system.
Why chose the HSK?
The HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) serves as a vital tool for both academic and professional advancement in China. In the academic sector, a strong HSK score is essential for international students, as it is a standard requirement for college enrollment, course credits, course exemptions, and applying for scholarships or graduation. Beyond individual student benefits, educational institutions also utilize these scores to evaluate the quality of their Chinese language teaching.
In the professional realm, high HSK scores significantly enhance a foreigner's employment prospects. Employers and government officials rely on these scores during recruitment, training, and promotion decisions, and a strong performance can substantially better an applicant's chances of securing a working visa. Ultimately, the test also serves as a valuable personal benchmark, allowing Chinese language learners to heighten their own self-evaluation and measure their language proficiency accurately.
What is HSKK?
The HSK Speaking Test assesses the test takers' oral Chinese abilities. It consists of three levels, including elementary, intermediate, and advanced. The HSK speaking test is conducted in the form of an audio recording.
Please note: Under recent international testing guidelines, registration for HSK Levels 3 through 6 now includes a mandatory pairing with the HSKK oral exam.
