Guided endodontics compared to conventional endodontic treatment in calcified lower incisors: a comparative in vivo study.

Description :

At the endodontic department of Saint Joseph university, six patients having two calcified lower incisors thereby requiring root canal treatment will be recruited. One incisor from each patient will be treated with the conventional endodontic treatment technique (group 1) while the other incisor will be treated with the guided treatment technique (group 2).CBCT scans will be taken for the treatment planning for calcified tooth as they give an idea about the presence and location of the canals that are not visible in a conventional periapical radiograph. Conventional radiographic examinations have inherent limitations such as non-availability of 3D information and anatomic noise, which limit their use and relevance in calcified canals (6). One session will be dedicated to the calcified lower incisor to be treated with the conventional endodontic treatment technique and the second session to the other calcified lower incisor to be treated with the guided treatment technique.
