-The aim of this course is to deepen an objective understanding of the interaction between the state structure and the confessional fact in Lebanon, through a presentation of the evolution of the confessional fact from a historical, socio-political and cultural point of view. This course helps the student to understand: 1. Problems arising in the political structure of the state from the interaction between confessionalism and the principles of the nation-state; 2. The characteristics of Lebanon's heterogeneous society; 3. The conditions for establishing the rule of law and a modern society in Lebanon.
