Laboratory for Research in Education - LRE
Governance and Administration
The LRE operates under the authority of the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences. It is headed by a Director whose term of office is three years and may be renewed up to three times. Upon the Dean’s recommendation, the appointment of the Laboratory Director is approved by the Faculty Council.
The Laboratory for Research in Education also comprises two committees: the Scientific Committee, headed by the Chair of the Scientific Committee, and the Administrative Management Committee, headed by the Chair of the Administrative Management Committee. The committees meet regularly to ensure the productivity and effective functioning of the Laboratory.
Heads of Department, the Chair of the Administrative Management Committee, permanent researchers, associate researchers, and support staff may be invited to participate in meetings of the Scientific Committee.
Role of the Director of the Laboratory for Research in Education
The Director defines and guides the Faculty’s research policy and undertakes the following responsibilities:
- Assess the performance of the Laboratory’s teams, both individually and collectively.
- Conduct regular assessments of the Faculty’s research needs and develop a strategy to address contemporary challenges and foster research development.
- Promote a research culture grounded in ethical principles and a participatory approach involving faculty members and student researchers.
- Respond to internal and external research opportunities and requests, fostering openness and interdisciplinarity.
- Lead national and international research projects aligned with the Laboratory’s research areas.
Coordinate collaborative work between the Scientific Committee and the Administrative Management Committee.
Role of the Chair of the Scientific Committee
The Chair of the Scientific Committee is primarily responsible for ensuring the scientific quality and integrity of the Laboratory’s activities. The Chair undertakes the following responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Laboratory’s research areas remain aligned with current developments and innovations in education.
- Promote research within the Laboratory by organizing and disseminating information on scientific events and publications at the national and international levels.
- Enhance the Laboratory’s research areas by providing and developing relevant scientific resources.
Strengthen the visibility of the Laboratory’s research activities on the Faculty’s website, social media platforms, and in the media.
Role of the Chair of the Administrative Management Committee
The Chair of the Administrative Management Committee oversees the Laboratory’s organizational and digital infrastructure and undertakes the following responsibilities:
- Develop and ensure the long-term sustainability of the database relating to students and faculty researchers.
- Establish an electronic library to serve the Laboratory’s stakeholders.
- Develop the Laboratory’s internal operating procedures.
- Collect and archive research papers and documents produced by Master’s and doctoral students.
