Research Area 1: Pedagogical Guidance and the Teaching of School Subjects

This research area explores pedagogical guidance strategies and teaching and learning practices in relation to didactics, the epistemology of knowledge, and interdisciplinarity. Drawing on advances in educational sciences, pedagogy, educational neuroscience, and advanced technologies, it seeks to develop differentiated and innovative approaches.

It encompasses the design of subject-specific content, assessment methods, feedback, differentiation, and remediation, while also addressing relational dimensions, classroom management, and the holistic support of students. It further highlights the role of pedagogical advisors, support for teachers, and the continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Research Area 2: Early Childhood and Primary Education

This research area focuses on early childhood and primary education, with particular attention to the challenges associated with learner diversity and inclusion. It explores inclusive remediation strategies, differentiated instruction, explicit teaching, targeted feedback, metacognitive strategies, play-based learning, peer tutoring, and educational technologies.

It examines the implementation of active learning methods designed to address students’ diverse needs while creating a stimulating learning environment that fosters autonomy, cooperation, and the development of socio-emotional skills. It also investigates the roles of teachers, learning support specialists, and multidisciplinary teams in providing holistic support for children, with an emphasis on the co-construction of learning and the enhancement of well-being at school.

Research Area 3: Education Policies, Professionalization, and Digital Technologies

This research area explores education policies through a multidimensional approach encompassing sociological, economic, cultural, and technological perspectives. It examines curriculum reforms, employability policies, the alignment between education and labour-market needs, as well as the societal and environmental challenges that shape education systems.

It also addresses educational governance through issues related to quality, professionalization, and the construction of professional identities among education stakeholders. Particular attention is given to the transformations brought about by digital technologies, including digitalization, digital inclusion, and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in school and university administration.

Finally, this research area further investigates the concepts of learning organizations and lifelong learning, with a focus on support mechanisms and continuing professional development aimed at facilitating the transformation of educational institutions and practices in response to contemporary change.
