The Rector
Prof. Salim Daccache s.j. holds two doctorates: Philosophy (Sorbonne) and Educational Sciences (Strasbourg). Since 1984, he has been Deputy Director of Dar al-Mashreq and editor-in-chief of the al-Mashreq journal, professor in various USJ institutions since 1985, Rector of the College of Jamhour (1991-2008), Dean of the Faculty of Religious Sciences (2008-2012) and Rector of the University since 2012.
Among other recent publications: Pluralism, living together and citizenship in Lebanon: does salvation come from school? (translated title - L’Harmattan and PUSJ, 2013); The Problem of the Creation of the World in the Muslim Kalam of Abu Mansur al Maturidi, (USJ, 2009).
