Cette unité d’enseignement vise à accompagner le patient et sa famille en situation de détresse vitale, de stress et de deuil ; à répondre à leur souffrance physique, psychologique et spirituelle ; à traiter les problèmes de dilemme éthique selon les principes, et les valeurs éthique et juridique, et à évaluer la douleur. Elle contribue au développement des compétences visées par le programme : « Agir avec humanisme en accompagnant la personne/famille dans leurs expériences de santé » et « Exercer un leadership clinique dans sa pratique ».
