Bechir Aouad was born in Ghine, Lebanon, in 1982. He obtained a bachelor's in philosophy and theology from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. Subsequently, he continued his studies and obtained a master's in pastoral management from Saint Joseph University of Beirut. Currently a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Religious Sciences of Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Bechir Aouad focuses on the study of spirituality within therapeutic communities for drug addicts in Lebanon. His thesis work, titled 'Drug Addiction and Spiritual Needs: Issues and Practices in a Multi-Religious Society,' explores the challenges and practices related to the spiritual care of people affected by drug addiction in a context of religious diversity. With his expertise in this field, Bechir Aouad has also obtained several university diplomas, notably in mediation, addictology, and health pastoral care. He has more than eight years of professional experience in the field of rehabilitation, having worked at the Oum El Nour rehabilitation center. In addition to his academic and professional work, Bechir Aouad shares his knowledge by teaching at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences of Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
