Prof. Maya Kharrat is an associate professor at Saint Joseph University of Beirut with demonstrated experience in the higher-education sector, where she has played a role within the university's academic commission and pedagogical mission. She has striven to inject the concepts and applications of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as applied research and professional integration, into the agricultural and agro-food industries curriculum. She is a recognized expert in small-ruminant production, as a researcher and consultant. She is also a member of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) and a board member of the Agrytech program. Prof. Kharrat holds a doctorate specialized in agronomy - specialized in animal production - from Supagro Montpellier. She was director of the ESIA-M of USJ from September 2011 to August 2023 and director of the USJ campus in Zahle from September 2014 to August 2024.
