Merit Scholarships

Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) grants students living in Lebanon (Lebanese Baccalaureate) and those living in Lebanon or abroad (French Baccalaureate) merit scholarships.

Note: The scholarships granted to students cover, according to the percentage awarded, the tuition fees of the first three-year program of study. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of the publication of the Lebanese or French baccalaureate results. Lebanese Baccalaureate Scholarships will be suspended should the Baccalaureate be canceled.

For the following years, the scholarship percentage will be reduced to half of the initial amount awarded: from the 4th to the 7th year for the Faculty of Medicine; during the 4th and 5th years for the Faculties of Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, and Engineering; and during the 4th year for the Faculty of Law, the Institute of Physiotherapy, the Higher Institute of Speech and Language Therapy, and the Institute of Occupational Therapy. The Merit Scholarship cannot be combined with other academic scholarships.

In order to maintain the scholarship, students must, by the end of the academic year, have a GPA of 3.5 or above and successfully pas all their courses.
To be eligible for the renewal of the scholarship for the following year, recipients must be ranked among the top 10% of their class at the end of the academic year.
These documents must be sent by email as scanned copies to bourse.excellence@usj.edu.lb. Applicants should receive a decision regarding their application within fifteen days following receipt of the document. Any incomplete email will not be considered.
