Cynthia Andraos, born on March 16, 1992, is a Lebanese civil engineer specializing in hydrology. She obtained her doctorate with very honorable distinction in April 2021 at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, after completing a Master M2 in Water Sciences and a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the same university. Since September 2022, she has held the position of Research-Teacher and assistant professor at Saint Joseph University. In this role, she teaches a variety of courses in the field of water engineering, conducts in-depth research in her field, supervises practical laboratory work, and takes on the role of coordinator of activities at the Water and Environment Center at ESIB. Prior to this, she worked for seven years as a water infrastructure engineer at Dar Al-Handasah Shair and Partners, where she gained diverse experience in the design and management of large hydraulic engineering and infrastructure projects. In addition to her work, Cynthia has also conducted in-depth research in her field, including the publication of indexed articles and participation in international conferences. She is a member of the Order of Engineers and Architects of Lebanon and the International Association of Hydrological Sciences. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.

Areas of expertise
Research themes

Cynthia Andraos’ researchthemes are centered on hydrology, rainfall modeling, and water engineering. Sheis particularly interested in improving low-flow forecasts through amulti-model approach for rainfall-runoff models. She also explores machine learningtechniques for modeling snow hydrology in Lebanese watersheds. Another keyaspect of her research involves reducing uncertainties in rainfall-runoffmodels to improve drought forecasts. Finally, she is interested in quantifyinguncertainties in hydrological models applied to Lebanese Mediterraneanwatersheds and studying parameter uncertainties in conceptual hydrologicalmodels in a climate change context. These research themes demonstrate hercommitment to using innovative approaches to solve complex problems inhydrology.
<cib-overlay></cib-overlay>
