Coming from a conservative at the same time liberal Tripolitan family that gave culture an important place, my parents paid particular attention to our education. I lived in an environment that respected the values ​​of tolerance far from any fanaticism. My older brother studied medicine in France then returned to settle in Tripoli to practice pediatrics in his private clinic. My younger brother, our youngest, lived in France all his life worked there in the hotel and restaurant industry. As for my sister, she held an administrative position at the Lebanese University. I received my primary and complementary education in official educational institutions, and my secondary education in a highly rated private institution in Tripoli run by the Maronite Sisters of Our Lady of Ibrine. Then I joined the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the Lebanese University in Beirut to study Arabic Letters. After obtaining my degree, I decided to continue my higher education in France. I enrolled at the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. I obtained my two doctorates (3rd cycle and state) in 1979 and 1990.
