Elie Hleihel was born in Saida, Lebanon, in 1993. He received an engineering degree an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Saint Joseph University (USJ), faculty of engineering (ESIB), in 2016 2017, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in 2023 with a thesis in partnership between the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INPT), Toulouse, France, and Saint Joseph University (USJ), faculty of engineering (ESIB). Since 2019, he has been a part-time lecturer at ESIB.

His research interests include the modeling, control, optimization techniques of DC microgrids, as well as new battery technologies. His papers have been published in several international conferences.
