Dr. Youmna GHALEB is a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy of USJ and teaches courses in Cell Biology and Article Analysis. She is also the coordinator of the hospital internship for fifth-year students. Dr. Youmna GHALEB obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) in 2009 and her Master's degree in Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences in 2013 from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. She completed her Doctorate (PhD) in joint supervision program between Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (at LBTM under the supervision of Prof. Marianne ABI FADEL) and Sorbonne Paris Cité University in Paris (at INSERM U1148 under the supervision of Dr. Mathilde VARRET). She obtained several fundings during her thesis, including the “Young Researchers Grant for the project funded by the Leducq Foundation: Leducq Foundation for cardiovascular research Transatlantic Networks of Excellence Program: The function regulation of PCSK9: a novel modulator of LDLR activity” and the “CNRS-Lebanon Doctoral Grant”. Following her PhD degree obtained in 2017, she completed a post-doctorate at INSERM U1148 in the team of Prof. Catherine BOILEAU thanks to funding obtained by the “Lefoulon-Delalande” foundation and “Wael Al-Mahmeed & IAS Research training grants and fellowships”. During her doctorate and post-doctorate, Dr. Youmna GHALEB was responsible for teaching courses and supervising trainees at the Faculty of Pharmacy. In addition to her teaching activities, Dr. Youmna GHALEB is a researcher at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Therapeutics of the Faculty of Pharmacy and her work is mainly based on biochemical, molecular, genetic and clinical studies of metabolic pathologies (e.g. familial hypercholesterolemia, etc.) and associated cardiovascular risks. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has numerous publications in international journals.
