Dr. Georges Salhab received his doctorate in Arabic language literature from the Institut des Lettres Orientales (ILO) at St Joseph University, Beirut, in 1980, his teaching license in French language literature from the Faculty of literature at the Lebanese University. An academic researcher lecturer at the ILO, he has been teaching Arabic language and literature since 2001, and has been in charge of courses and teaching internships at the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University. His research focuses on modern and comparative literature, subjects on which he has several publications, such as “Naturalism in Emile Zolas Rougons-Macquart and Nagib Mahfouzs trilogy”, “Audacity and Realism in Hanan El Cheihks hikayat Zahra”, “Adonis and renewal in poetry”, “Reading in Gibran Khalil Gibran's Les Ames Révoltées” and others. A seasoned pedagogical expert in the fields of teaching and pedagogical evaluation in Arabic and the European framework for language teaching, he has collaborated on research projects with the French Ministry of Education, the Research and Development Center of the Lebanese ministry of education, the Arab Thought Foundation and the Research center for the Arab World linked to the British publishing house Longman-Pearson. In addition to his experience in research and higher education, he has acted as a pedagogical advisor and coordinator in different private and public schools.
