
Gilbert Ghostine is an accomplished and purpose driven business leader with four decades of global experience across B2C and B2B sectors. He is recognized for fostering sustainable, profitable growth in both public and private companies and for successfully leading complex mergers and acquisitions.
From 2014 to 2023, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Firmenich, leading the company through a period of significant strategic transformation that culminated in its merger with DSM, creating a global leader in beauty, nutrition, and well being. Earlier in his career, he spent two decades at Diageo in senior leadership roles across four continents, developing deep expertise in consumer goods and global markets.
Gilbert Ghostine currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Sandoz and Chairman of the Board of SGS, both SIX Swiss Exchange listed companies. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Danone, where he is a member of the Audit and CSR Committees, and on the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where he chairs the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has lived in Geneva since 2014 and continues to actively support Université Saint Joseph through his foundation.
